Making a documentary film is not easy and a filmmaker needs all of these qualities and more. The Endeavours Documentary Film Festival, as its name suggests, recognises people’s endeavours. It will showcase documentary films about people and their lives and recognise great filmmaking.
The festival will take place from 8 – 12 May 2013 at the Arts House, within the Old Parliament House, on the banks of the Singapore River.
This is a competition festival with five juried awards:
- Best Documentary.
- Best Short Documentary (up to 30 minutes total running time).
- Best Asian Film.
- Best International Film.
- The Emerging Filmmaker Competition (open to new filmmakers based in Singapore).
Submit a short film (3 minutes or less) that features someone in Singapore who inspires you. The key criteria for the award will be storytelling, not technical expertise.
The winner of the competition will be awarded 20 hours of post production services at The Gunnery sound design studio and 20 hours of colour grading at Gravitate for their next documentary.
